Biostatistician 60 - 80%

Your tasks:

  • Ensure sound statistical planning, data preparation, analysis, reporting, and publication of SAKK registry projects as well as clinical trials, with main focus on registry studies
  • Support the further development and implementation of the SAKK registry concept
  • Provide input, discuss and develop new study proposals with investigators
  • Review relevant documents (e.g. trial proposals, statistical analysis plans, clinical study reports, etc.)
  • Work with Clinical Data Managers and Statistical Programmers to ensure high data quality
  • Provide statistical support and advice to other biostatisticians within the Statistics team and to physicians in the SAKK network
  • Keep up to date with developments in statistics and oncology through literature review, conference attendance, etc.
  • Initiate and perform methodological research in medical statistics when appropriate

About you:

  • PhD or Master’s Degree / Diploma in statistics, data science or a related field with at least 2 years of experience as statistician working with registry studies or similar data projects
  • Experience in clinical trials, in oncology and/or working as a statistical consultant would be an asset
  • Knowledge in data modelling and survival analysis; some familiarity with machine learning methods would be an asset
  • Familiar with statistical software packages such as SAS and R
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work both independently and in interdisciplinary teams
  • Very good project management skills, ability to work efficiently in several parallel projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;
  • Ability to communicate in German
