The transformation of the working group into a project group reflects the dynamic and vision of the Gynecological Cancer Team to promote innovative research. A key goal is to advance academic clinical and translational trials and strengthen collaboration with European groups ENGOT and EORTC to more effectively translate research findings into clinical practice.
SAKK is proud that this important topic is now being further explored and researched in an independent project group. Gynecological cancers are among the deadliest cancers in women worldwide. The establishment of a specialized project group is of great importance to promote women's health and cancer research.
The election of Prof. Dr. med. Intidhar Labidi-Galy as president of the Project Group Gynecological Cancer is further evidence of SAKK's commitment to promote innovation in this field. Intidhar is currently in charge of gynecological cancers at the Department of Oncology, Geneva University Hospitals and a member of the steering committee of the Translational Research Centre in Onco-Haematology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva. She will bring extensive experience and expertise in clinical and translational research in gynecological cancers. This new position will enable her to successfully lead the project group and achieve the goals set.
