Joint statement on the popular initiative "Yes to the ban on animal and human experiments”

SAKK, SCTO, SPOG and SwissPedNet reject the initiative

The federal popular initiative calls for a ban on experiments on animals and humans and a ban on trade and approval of products developed with the aid of such experiments.

The Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (SAKK), the Swiss Clinical Trial Organisation (SCTO), the Swiss Paediatric Oncology Group (SPOG) and the SwissPedNet - the Swiss Research Network of Clinical Pediatric Hubs reject the initiative, as a ban on medical studies would be contrary to the well-being of patients, their relatives and society. In addition, the initiative prevents progress in medical research and endangers Switzerland as a research location.

Here you will find the joint statement on the popular initiative "Yes to the ban on animal and human experiments” (only available in German and French language).
