60 Years of SAKK: Commitment to Cancer Research

The Young Oncology Academy (YOA) of SAKK is celebrating its 10th anniversary—coinciding with the year SAKK marks 60 years of successful clinical cancer research.

“We roll out the red carpet for each participant.”
– Prof. Dr. med. Miklos Pless, President of SAKK

Initiated by Prof. Dr. med. Miklos Pless, this mentorship program supports twelve dedicated young oncologists each year through specialized training in presentation skills, statistics, and clinical study design, along with participation in a major international conference.

The YOA aims to sustainably foster careers and advance clinical research in Switzerland. The Academy continues to evolve and is planning to expand its offerings to include programs for non-oncology disciplines.

As a non-profit and independent organization, SAKK is nationally networked, internationally recognized, and conducts clinical trials across all cancer types and disciplines. Since 1965, SAKK has stood for indication.
